Lanterns Roblox Leveling and Ring Mastery Guide

Last updated:

Start with Hero City quests, use area level signs to choose your next combat zone, and keep track of Ring Mastery as you fight. This guide covers leveling checkpoints, extra XP opportunities, and the mastery requirements behind several advanced constructs.

Follow Officer Reyes's quests, move through areas suited to your level, and return to the quest giver when the tracker requests a turn-in. Iron Harbor is recommended for levels 50–100; at level 100, NEXT QUEST points across the sea to Prison Island, marked 100–150. Ring Mastery grows separately during combat: check it with B, then inspect construct requirements with G. A mastery bar showing 312/2,200 XP has 1,888 XP remaining and is 14.18% complete.

Calculate progress and remaining XP on the current Ring Mastery bar.

Remaining XP = max(0, required XP − earned XP). Progress = 100 × earned XP / required XP.

  • Enter both values from the same current-level Ring Mastery bar.
  • The result does not project later mastery levels or XP per action.

Follow Quests and Area Level Signs

  1. Start with Officer Reyes in Hero City's plaza. Approach him and use H / Talk to pick up quests. Early tasks include Street Sweep, Corner Crews, and Market Cleanup.
  2. Check QUESTS → ACTIVE and follow TARGET. Match your fights to the tracked objective so combat also advances your quest.
  3. Use area level signs to choose where to fight next. The following checkpoints help you judge suitable areas:
Area Recommended levels What to do
Old Docks 10–20 Use the area banner to judge whether nearby fights fit your stage.
Neon Strip 20–30 Follow your active objectives while moving into this level range.
Iron Harbor 50–100 Find Director Valen in the streetside plaza and follow the quest's TARGET marker.
Prison Island 100–150 At level 100, follow NEXT QUEST · PRISON ISLAND across the sea. Fight Prisoners around Prison Yard and look for Warden Hollis outside Blackrock Penitentiary.

Treat the signs as recommendations rather than entry locks. Between checkpoints, keep following available quests and choose fights you can finish consistently.

For landmarks and the crossing to Prison Island, use the location and travel guide.

Prison Island ahead across the sea, with its level 100–150 banner and NEXT QUEST marker.

Use Combat, Turn-Ins and Extra XP Sources

Finish the return step after clearing a quest's enemies. A full kill counter or COMPLETE label can mean the combat objective is done while the NPC turn-in remains. Follow the Return marker, talk to the named quest giver, and collect the reward before moving on. Market Cleanup, for example, still requires a return to Officer Reyes after reaching its enemy count.

Choose extra XP opportunities that fit what you are already doing:

  • While running street quests: Open QUESTS → DAILY. Street Sweeper targets Hero City criminals or robots, Construct Specialist rewards construct kills, and High Flyer tracks ring flight. Combine matching daily objectives with your current quest and travel; use each current card's target and reset countdown. The quest directory covers individual objectives and stages.
  • While fighting groups: Use protection and area attacks to keep nearby enemies manageable. This approach suits Prison Yard combat when you have the appropriate abilities. Choose an available setup from the farming loadouts rather than moving into harder fights solely for a larger reward popup.
  • While playing the Halloween event: Take matching field quests and finish their turn-ins. Boss quests such as The Pumpkin King #1 also provide character XP when returned to the quest giver. The pass tracks a separate kind of progress; use the Halloween event XP planner for its rewards and targets.
  • When you have a Legendary Chest: Opening it provides XP alongside a chance at an unowned Legendary construct. It is an additional reward source, not a fixed number of character levels. See Legendary Chest sources and opening steps.

The permanent 2x XP pass and a personal timed 2x XP boost combine into 4x XP. Time a boost around a session when you can keep completing combat and quests. The personal options include 15- and 60-minute boosts; repeat timed purchases extend duration. Check XP boost stacking and duration before combining products.

Character Level, Ring Mastery and Ability Levels

Lanterns tracks three separate kinds of growth:

Progress How it grows What to check
Character level Earn character XP from combat, quest rewards, and other XP sources. Your character level helps you choose suitable areas and meet player-level requirements.
Ring Mastery Continue combat while progressing your quests. Press B and look at the separate Ring Mastery level and XP bar in Lantern Build. Some constructs require a specific mastery level.
Individual ability level Use that ability in combat. Inspect its level and XP in G / Constructs. Hotbar Roman numerals identify ability levels, such as Fist II or Saw IV.

Allocating attribute points does not add XP to the Ring Mastery bar. Keep fighting to progress mastery, then open G / Constructs after a mastery level-up to check your next unlock.

Ring Mastery unlock checkpoints

Construct Displayed Ring Mastery requirement
Car 4
Slap 6
Train 7
Smash 8

Read the selected construct's full card before planning an unlock. Car's mastery display of 3/4 means mastery 3 toward a requirement of 4; its card can also show a 20 Willpower requirement. Reaching the mastery checkpoint alone does not establish that every other condition is met.

Use the construct directory to check the ability's other requirements and equip it once available.

Calculate Your Current Mastery XP Gap

  1. Press B and find the Ring Mastery bar in Lantern Build.
  2. Enter the first number as Earned XP and the second number as Required XP. Take both values from the same current-level bar.
  3. Read Remaining XP for the amount still needed and Current-bar progress for the percentage completed.

For a mastery level 5 bar showing 312/2,200 XP, enter 312 and 2,200. The result is 1,888 XP remaining and 14.18% complete.

Update both inputs when your mastery level changes. The result measures your current bar; it does not predict later-level requirements, kills needed, or time to reach a target mastery level.
