Lanterns Plasma Brute Chest Upgrades: Costs, Rewards and Odds

Before opening a Plasma Brute chest in Lanterns, choose whether to keep its current rewards or spend Robux for a higher tier. The upgrade changes its XP, Mastery XP, and chances at bonus rewards.

Plasma Brute chests upgrade from Common → Uncommon → Rare → Legendary for 25 Robux per step, or 75 Robux from Common to Legendary. Legendary offers 2× the next-level XP requirement, 1,500 Mastery XP for one equipped Construct, a 15% chance at an unowned corresponding Boss Construct, a separate 10% Legendary Construct chance, and a 5% Tokens chance. Open your current tier to avoid upgrade spending; choose Legendary if you want the highest listed rewards and chances in this chain.

Upgrade from Common to Legendary

Open INVENTORY → CHESTS and select your Plasma Brute chest.
Use ODDS % to inspect its reward probabilities.
Select the upgrade button for the next tier and confirm the 25-Robux purchase. Repeat only as far as you want to upgrade.
Select OPEN CHEST when you are ready to claim the rewards at your chosen tier.

Legendary has OPEN CHEST with no further upgrade button. Upgrading and opening are separate actions, so choose your tier before opening.

Character XP scales with the XP requirement for your next level; these multipliers are not fixed XP amounts. Mastery XP goes to one equipped Construct, rather than every Construct in your loadout.

Common also guarantees 30 Lantern Coins, Uncommon 60, and Rare 120. Legendary adds a separate 10% chance at an unowned Legendary Construct alongside its corresponding Boss Construct chance.

Rewards are rolled when you open the chest. Already-owned Construct types are excluded from the applicable Construct rolls. If you own all eligible types, you receive extra XP instead. Treat the listed chances as separate reward chances; adding them together does not establish your chance of receiving any Construct.

Understand the Two Token Rolls

Lantern Tokens use two stages for Plasma Brute-derived Rare and Legendary chests:

Roll for Tokens: Rare has a 1% chance to award Tokens; Legendary has a 5% chance.
Roll the quantity after success: A successful Tokens roll uses the distribution below.

The 50%, 35%, and 15% figures apply only after the chest successfully rolls Tokens. A 15% quantity chance therefore does not mean that 15% of all opened chests give 100 Tokens.

Legendary improves the chance of reaching the quantity roll; the quantity distribution stays the same. These percentages apply to this Plasma Brute comparison, not to Pumpkin Hunt Mythical Chests. See currency sources and uses for other ways to collect resources.

Choose a Tier for Your Goal

Keep your Robux: Open the chest at its current tier. You can also leave it in chest storage while deciding.
Spend no more than 25 Robux from Common: Stop at Uncommon. It doubles the character XP multiplier from 0.3× to 0.6× and increases Mastery XP from 120 to 300.
Reach the Rare rewards with a 50-Robux budget from Common: Stop at Rare for the 1× character XP multiplier, 700 Mastery XP, 4% corresponding Boss Construct chance, and 1% Tokens chance.
Prioritize XP or an unowned corresponding Boss Construct: Legendary offers the strongest listed rewards in this chain. The final 25-Robux step raises character XP from 1× to 2×, Mastery XP from 700 to 1,500, and the Boss Construct chance from 4% to 15%.
Prioritize Tokens or Legendary Constructs: Legendary raises the Tokens chance from 1% to 5% and offers the separate 10% chance at an unowned Legendary Construct. Both remain chance rewards, so buy the upgrade only if the improved odds are worth the Robux to you.

To earn another Plasma Brute chest, fight Plasma Brute in Crown Heights and meet the at-least-5% damage contribution requirement for a personal chest. Follow the Hero City–Iron Harbor boss route for a route that includes Plasma Brute and Sentinel Prime.

For a Legendary Chest without paying for upgrades, collect 15 hidden pumpkins in Pumpkin Hunt. That milestone counts pumpkins actually collected in FOUND, not just riddles solved; it is a separate chest source from the Plasma Brute upgrade chain.
